Wandering Wednesday - Clingman’s Dome, The Great Smokey Mountains
Clingman’s Dome is the highest point in Tennessee and The Great Smokey Mountains at 6,643 ft. above sea level. The trail to the dome from the parking lot and visitor’s center is only a half mile, HOWEVER it is a very steep incline and you will be thankful for the occasional benches to grab a breather on and catch the view. It is all worth it though when you get to the top and have a 360 degree view from the dome itself. Fortunately for us the clouds cleared just long enough for us to catch this lovely view up above the world. Bring a sweater.
